A little inspiration, a little education, a little thought provoking.
~ Dale Carnegie
In the era of networking via zoom (or other video calling platforms), it’s harder than ever to be memorable and/or remember other people, what they do and what would be a good lead for them.
Here’s something I’ve started doing that has helped me a lot. When I make a good connection and continue the conversation after the zoom, I send that person a summary of what I do and a little about my target market. This way they have something to refer back to and can use it to tell someone what I do, or even just copy and paste what I wrote. It’s my job to make it as easy as possible for someone to refer business to me.
I’ve gotten great feedback on how much this has helped them explain me to others and several folks have said that they are now providing summaries of themselves.
I recommend that anyone who wants to get more referrals for business give this a try. It doesn’t have to be long (the shorter the better)… my summaries are only 3-5 sentences.
If you’d like to send me your summary I’d love to use it to send you more business!
