A little inspiration, a little education, a little thought provoking.
“The words you speak become the house you live in.”
At the beginning of 2020 I had decided to choose a “word” for the year. Rather than make specific resolutions or goals, I would have a word that would be my overall guide for the year. The word I chose was “consistency”. I really believe that if you do anything consistently you make better progress than doing a bunch here and there and stopping in between. I wanted to be more consistent with work, with eating healthy, with having time to play/have fun, with working out, with learning, etc…
Then covid 19 happened and like everyone I was thrown a little off track. After the first two weeks I thought about my word and how I could get back to having that be my guiding word even through the unknowns caused by covid. It turned out to be an incredibly helpful tool.
As we begin to near the end of the year I look back and contemplate how I spent the year. Could I have done better and been more consistent? Yes… but for the most part I feel like I have improved my habit of being more consistent and was able to achieve a lot despite the chaos that has overshadowed 2020.
Now it is time for me to start thinking about what my word for 2021 will be… I’ll share it with you all at the start of the new year.
What word would you pick for yourself for 2021?
