1 Quote:

“AI doesn’t have to be evil to destroy humanity – if AI has a goal and humanity just happens to come in the way, it will destroy humanity as a matter of course without even thinking about it, no hard feelings.”

I’m not sure about you, but that quote scares the hell out of me!

A friend and I were talking about AI and how hard it is to decipher what is real or not real.  Because AI has the ability to learn and adapt on its own, at what point can we no longer hold someone accountable for the information that is being delivered or the actions that follow?   It’s a scary scenario and we’re seeing more and more of it on social media fueling conspiracy theories.

I thought about it for a few mins and realized that I turn to nature in search of the truth.  Of course there could always be manipulation there too, but mother nature is strong and resilient with a drive to survive (and hopefully can over power AI long term).   As a result I decided to spend a lot LESS time on my phone, email, social media, tv and print media and much MORE time in nature (if you haven’t heard from me in a few weeks, that’s why).

Just me, my dog and mother nature.   I paid attention to what was happening around me… the wind, the plants, the water, the soil, the sun, the wild life and how magnificent it all is.    I got reacquainted with my intuition and what felt right in my heart and realized that all of the outside information I was absorbing made me distrust myself.

In just a few weeks I feel more calm, more confident and more grounded (pun intended). I know AI is real and it still scares me, but I also feel like I have a place to go to find truth… for now.

1 Question:

What are your thoughts/feelings around AI?
